November 2020 GTCC Employee of the Month Jeremy Plumley

Guilford Technical Community College faced an unparalleled emergency last fall when it was hit with a cyberattack. Countless staff members stepped to the fore to aid in the recovery, but none was more vital than network administrator Jeremy Plumley. Which is why he was recognized as GTCC’s November employee of the month.

Jeremy has been a key member to facilitate the systems’ recovery after the cyber incident. He has been involved in multiple efforts on multiple systems, and even during stressful times with multiple priority-one projects, and while being pulled in different directions, he was always ready to help with an excellent disposition and a smile.

Jeremy recovered the WiFi, recovered network infrastructure and assisted other ITS team members to make sure networks and firewall traffic was functioning well. He reconfigured VPN access for employees and vendors, rebuilt networks to be able to start re-imaging computers for all staff and students and created firewall rules to bring up servers and services.”

Please join us in congratulating Jeremy for his selection as November employee of the month.
